Since vitamin C helps you absorb iron, it is good to consume the two together. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. Food sources of vitamin C include blackcurrants, blueberries, broccoli, guava, kiwi fruits, oranges, papaya, strawberries and sweet potatoes. Vitamin C helps produce collagen, which in turn strengthens the capillaries that supply the hair shafts.
Omega-3 fatty acids are all the buzz these days. These must be consumed through our diet. Omega-3s help line our scalp and provide oils to hydrate your hair and scalp. important fats our body cannot make itself, and therefore must be obtained through our diet. Stick with salmon, herring, sardines, trout and mackerel as well as plant sources like avocado, pumpkin seeds and walnuts.
Vitamin A helps your body to make sebum. Sebum, an oily substance created by our hairs sebaceous glands, provides a natural conditioner for a healthy scalp. Sebum can be found in animal products and orange/yellow colored vegetables like carrots, pumpkins and sweet potatoes.
